Companies have taken to using charity to help further their marketing reach. This past holiday season, AngelBeds, the manufacturer and supplier of NASA-developed visco elastic memory foam mattresses similar to Tempur-Pedic® mattresses, donated $1.00 to the charity Toys for Tots for every new email address added to their email subscription database.

Toys for Tots is a foundation created by the U.S. Marine Corps for the purpose of providing toys to impoverished children during the holiday season. The program helps raise funds so that financially disadvantaged children can receive some much-needed hope in their lives through the act of receiving a new toy at Christmas – a hope that will help them develop into responsible, productive and patriotic citizens. In the 63 years Toys for Tots has been around, it has distributed over 400 million toys to more than 188 million children.

In seeing an opportunity to donate to Toys for Tots and at the same time increasing their email membership, AngelBed’s has also helped influence their brand reputation through acts of compassion such as this Toys for Tots campaign. By making their variety of customers part of such a beneficial campaign, AngelBeds is really living up to their name by helping the customer to sleep better at night in more ways than one.
